1/4 of an inch

We were so close to the unimaginable we could feel the tension in the air, yes Brian the Boarder was going to give his beloved snowboard Gerald a day off and risk life and limb on a skibike. Flo from the Hotel "Alpine Palace Wolf" had kindly loaned us his Brenter skibikes for the day and Brian had decided to bite the bullet and give one a try (if only to say it was not for him yeh!) So off we went, collected the bikes and set about adjusting the foot skis to our boot size, that's when it all went pear shaped. Try as we would we could not adjust the Brenter foot skis to fit Brian's UK ski boot size 12 - we were short by 1/4 of an inch. We thought about chopping his toes off by the required amount but he rebelled at that so it's back to the drawing board. Hmm, I happen to have an old pair skis in the loft that can be cut down to size 12 boots so watch this space next year.
