E-ticket

Hi All,
The computers have finally taken over what used to be a pleasure ie: the day your travel agent contacts you to advise your holiday tickes have arrived and are ready for you to collect. We're not sure if this is just new to the UK or a worldwide trend, but now it appears we get an E-ticket for our journey which is only an A4 piece of paper to confirm your details to the staff at the airport and your holiday hotel. This is fine by us as we do not wish to cut down trees for the sake of it, (except the ones which get in our way on the piste that is). So to the point, Gail's sister Lynn came for the second week of our 2 week vacation, brave girl considering she had all her own luggage to carry plus a Keeda Superstar R skibike as well, and I must add you do not get many knights in shining armour at Manchester Airport at 05.30 in the morning to help you check in. But all went well until the evening we were all packing to come home, then it happened, a knock on our hotel room door, it was Lynn in tears. She had packed and unpacked her bags 3 times but could not find her E-ticket anywhere. Gail phoned the tour rep who calmly advised us not to worry as all her details were in the computer and she did not need the piece of paper, but Gail was not convinced and eventually tracked down the missing document to the hotel reception who had filed it rather than give it back Lynn. They wanted to keep it but Gail insisted they make a copy and return the original to Lynn; it's as well she did because the staff at Salzberg Airport did want to see proof of our reservations on the flight as well as proof of our identities.
So much for E-tickets Eh! be aware.
I did on our return to the UK text the Inghams tour representative to advise him of the situation and yes you've got it, he did not respond.
Mervyn.
