What do we do in the summer months?

Very similar to you actually - dream a lot (winter sports of course), plan a lot, we’ve actually booked our skibiking holiday for next year. We would love to be able to spend more time on the slopes in the winter months but the cost these days in the EU are getting so ridiculous. This season's 2 week break in the Alps cost us around 3,500 GBP all in, that said, we loved every minute and do not regret a penny of it.
So in the summer we cut back on costs. We have a caravan with awning (trailer with porch we think you guys call it) and spend most summer weekends there. It’s situated on a small family run camp site 2 miles from York and the river that flows through York is 200 yards from our caravan door. We cycle the country paths but not the rough tracks anymore - Gail came off her bike one day and spent the next 15 months with various casts on the leg, it was so bad she did well to return to skibiking - that’s why we applaud the work BLESMA does. I fish and I actually sold my old fly rod on EBay yesterday. I’ve found a weir pool a few miles up the river on the other side of York where the barbel have started to congregate, now that we are finally getting river pollution under control in this country. I’m going to take Brian the Boarder up there when the closed season finishes to try our luck.
The photo shows the bottom of the Reiterkogel lift in Hinterglemm which is open to mountain bikers throughout the summer months, you will notice the various jumps etc. that have been added for the more adventurous bikers.
